Welcome to my website. I have been performing and teaching harp and piano for many years. When I was a child I had a natural inclination towards music and especially wanted to play the harp! I started playing piano when I was 11 and harp when I was 13. I was the only member of my family that wanted to play music. Fortunately enough, a neighbor left their piano with us rather than putting it in storage when they moved. I remember how excited I was to start playing. A couple years later a woman we knew in the church choir brought a harp back from Ireland. She knew I wanted to play the harp and invited me to take lessons with her. As it is said, where there is a will, there is a way. I have always appreciated being able to start my lifelong adventure as a musician. My grandmother was so happy I was learning harp that she bought me a my first concert pedal harp.

As a teacher, I strive to inspire in my students to embrace their own unique voice and connection to music. My teaching style focuses on an understanding of music, not just learning to  read music. Recognition of chords and scales is crucial to the development of one’s own abilities to increase ear training and to harmonize melodies with chords. I studied classical and jazz harmony. I enjoy arranging tunes and often write out my own arrangements. 

I attended Shenandoah Conservatory of music in Winchester, VA as a piano/harp performance major. I performed at many venues including casinos in Atlantic City, NJ and as a Sunday brunch harpist for The Barclay Hotel in Philadelphia, PA. I relocated to Florida and performed for Breakers Hotel, Palm Beach, Jupiter Beach Resort, Sunday brunch at the Marriott, Panama City and Harry T’s in Destin. I worked with many agents back in the late 80s into the 2000s and performed at weddings and special events from wineries to art galleries. I also performed for many a wedding on the white sandy beaches of the emerald coast. I have now been in Oregon for the past 12 years and enjoy teaching at my home studio in Corvallis along with performing music for memorable occasions. I have performed at the following venues here in Oregon to name a few: The Corvallis Country Club, The Thyme Garden, Paradise Springs Weddings, Cloud and Kelly's, LBCC Acoustic Showcase and the Saturday Corvallis Market.  I perform as a solo harpist and also collaborate with cello, violin, viola, flute and voice accompaniment.
